Cold Smoke Photography, founded in 1982, began with the first on-mountain photo operation at Big Sky, Montana. During the 1980’s, Cold Smoke founder, Alain Pinto was involved in opening seven other on-mountain photo operations at some of the great ski areas in the country; including: Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Crystal Mountain, Washington; Stratton Mountain, Vermont; Mount Bachelor, Oregon; Schweitzer, Idaho; Telluride, Colorado; and last but not least; our 3rd decade of shooting photos at TAOS Ski Valley!

Cold Smoke Photographers have had the opportunity to work with many influential people over the years including: George W. Bush, Al Gore, Newt Gingrich, Steve Forbes, Gov. Gary Johnson, Gov. Frank Keating, Christie Todd Whitman, Gov. George Pataki…. and many others. Ryan Fellows, a lead photographer and principal of Cold Smoke Photography has also had the pleasure of photographing Luciano Pavarotti and Jamie Lee Curtis. Cold Smoke Photographers have been entrusted to photograph thousands of individuals, families and friends, sports events, corporate gatherings, weddings, anniversaries, engagements and many other important moments in our client's lives.
